FIKIA DADA Organization, a Kiswahili term, “Reach out to a sister’’ foundation and motivation is based on finding long-term solutions to the systemic and communal challenges that affect teenage girls as described above. Registered as a Non-Profit Organization, FIKIA Dada aims to be a home for the young women and girls who have suffered the trauma of Sexual abuses, rejection due to teenage pregnancies, FGM among others so to restore their dignity, give them time to heal, and the ability to raise their children in a more humane environment.

Fikia Dada Rescue Centre is a community-based initiative dedicated to helping vulnerable girls facing hardship, abandonment, abuse, or lack of basic needs. We provide a safe home and a holistic support system that empowers them to thrive.

FIKIA DADA Organization has convened and facilitated several outreach and advocacy programs in over 30 schools located in Kajiado and Kiambu County, targeting over 4,000 girls since 2020. The programs are aimed at raising awareness about the rights of teenage girls and challenges associated with FGM, early and forced marriages, teenage pregnancies, menstrual hygiene, sex education etc. As part of the programs, we also provide dignity kits, including sanitary pads, innerwear, and soap, to the teenage girls to improve menstrual hygiene. As a result, FIKIA DADA has managed to build the capacity of the girls to become young agents of change within their households and communities.
